New Product Launches

Mercury Marine UnveilingMercury Marine President Pat Mackey, Mercury Racing President Fred Kiekhaefer and Mercury MerCruiser President Kevin Grodzki unveiled our new products to more than 90 members of the media at an invitation-only event on Wednesday evening and to a crowd of 1,000 at the Mercury booth on Thursday morning at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The debut of Mercury Racing’s X-haust and Verado 350 SCi, as well as MerCruiser’s revolutionary Axius, were met with enthusiasm at both events. All three products represent the ultimate in their class – the quietest sterndrive, the fastest FourStroke and the easiest-to-maneuver propulsion system. Dusty McCoy, Chief Executive Officer of Brunswick Corporation, also offered a farewell to Pat Mackey, who will soon retire from Mercury Marine after seven years at the helm.

Axius was also recognized by MotorBoating as “Best of the Year – Best Sterndrive.” Both MotorBoating awards were presented at the Mercury Marine booth, with Mark Schwabero and Kevin Grodzki accepting. Presence

Mercury Marine BoothThe Mercury Marine booth and docks were the busiest in their respective categories, and it was easy to see why. Aside from the products themselves, the displays in the booth drew people in for a closer look, with informative videos and online information available at six different kiosks. A 10-foot by 15-foot video wall high in the center of the booth continuously played videos, allowing consumers to see our products in action. The corners of the booth were home to two large, eye-catching Axius and Verado 350 SCi displays. The Axius display incorporated three large screens to show how an Axius-powered boat maneuvers from the driver’s point of view. The Verado 350 SCi display invited consumers for a close-up view of the engine on a platform. Out at the docks, product flags and a large canopy pinpointed the Mercury boats at the Sea Isle Marina. The tent also sheltered customers from the sun – and the eventual rain.

Verado Experience

Two Verado-powered boats were reserved at the Sea Isle Marina for the Verado Experience, which invited customers to test-drive a Verado-powered boat and discover first-hand what makes Verado outperform the other outboards on the market. Miami International Boat Show 2008

The Miami International Boat Show starts on Thursday, and once again Mercury Marine will showcase industry-leading new products. Here are some of the new products that will make headlines in the boating industry:

Axius from MerCruiser will completely change the way you feel about docking your boat or pulling up for fuel. Axius uses twin sterndrives that move independently of each other. By using the SmartCraft joystick, boat drivers can move their boat in any direction – even sideways or diagonally! Got a 32-foot boat and there’s only 35 feet of dock space? With Axius, you’ll be able to get your boat in without any problems.

Mercury Marine has developed one of the cleanest lineups of engines on the market to help eliminate air pollution. The next step is noise pollution – and Mercury Racing has a new X-haust system which has to be (not) heard to be believed. All the power Mercury Racing sterndrives have to offer – just on the quieter side.

Mercury Racing will have a new product to unveil on Thursday morning. We can’t tell you much about it, because it’s under wraps until the unveiling. But you can stop by our booth Thursday morning at 11:15 to see the cover come off. . .

All of these products are on display in our booth (M96) at the convention center, or you can try them out yourself at Dock #2 at Sea Isle Marina. Just look for us in the shade under the Mercury tent.
